Episode 1: Conscious Business with Peter Matthies

In this episode we're introduced to the concept of consciousness and the role it plays in business. Kendra speaks with Peter Matthies, founder and CEO of the Conscious Business Institute who's teachings greatly influenced her life, leadership style and were in many ways the catalyst to creating this podcast.  Peter shares profound insights on how we've gotten to this place of doing, and what it will take to step into our full "beings".

"And so it originated basically, I think a long time ago when I was in my venture capital office and I was looking up for things, how can I work with more fulfillment and satisfaction and bridge this money world, this success world with my inner search for maybe even spiritual connection or connection or some deeper sense of fulfillment. And I didn't find the curriculum. There was nothing out there. So I looked around. I went to Sri Lanka to do Ayurvedic retreats. I went and worked with shamans. I traveled around the globe. I did all these kinds of things and piecemealed it together, these wisdom principles and the business principles to create this master program."

Enjoy!

"And humans, as much as they will still be humans, what I realize is we're evolving as humans too, so the humans 50 years from now might think differently based on the fact that they're going to be using different capabilities, different parts of their brain as it interacts with emerging technologies. So you think about, well, If we as humans are evolving at the same time that just our technologies are evolving and the world is evolving, how are we moving together? Because there's an acceleration. It's not necessarily going to be all factors accelerating at the same time.."

Episode 3: Exploring the Employee Experience with Matt Shaffer

Join me for an engaging conversation on the employee experience, and what's at the core of efficiency & engagement with Matt Shaffer, Founder & CEO of Salient7. Matt reflects on his previous career and shares his learnings from the Air Force, we debate the purpose of "purpose", define leadership vs management and dive into the importance of authenticity.

"Authenticity is everything. How can you get to alignment if you don't have authenticity and honesty, right? And I'd say full, maybe not complete, but full authenticity and full honesty, right? It doesn't mean you have to bear every nook and cranny of your soul, but give away that 90% that other people need to know and vice versa so we can align together in the most effective way. Authenticity is everything, I think."

She's written a new book called Effective Remote Teams, she shares with us tips and tricks from her book on how we can all set boundaries and move away from exhaustion to balance.

"shifting [the focus] to go 'well what is it that does add the value, those outcomes?'  helps people to go 'well maybe I could do things a little differently ?'.  Thinking through doing things differently so you can also give yourself permission to focus on yourself and whatever it is it's important to you outside of work"
